Application Process
How long is the application process?

What are the required documents?
You need a copy of your passport identification page (with at least 1 year validity), a colour ID photo (high resolution), the completed application form for your selected membership, and proof of family relationship if applying as a family. Documents can be submitted via our online application portal or by email.
Can I apply for Thailand Elite membership remotely?
Yes, you can apply remotely. The entire process can be done via our online application portal or by email. You do not need to be in Thailand to apply.
Can I apply to Thailand Elite with my family?
Yes. Eligible family members (spouse, parents, and children) can join on Platinum, Diamond, and Reserve tiers — each with their own visa and full privileges. Platinum: THB 1,000,000/person · Diamond: THB 1,500,000/person · Reserve: THB 2,000,000/person. Bronze and Gold are individual memberships only.
Which citizenship countries are eligible?
Citizens from all countries (except North Korea) can now apply to Thailand Elite / Thailand Privilege Card.
Can I apply if I have a history of Education (ED) Visa in Thailand?
Yes, you can apply if you have a history of Education Visa (Non-ED), but your application may be more subject to rejection. To strengthen your application, provide your school establishment licence, school registration, student certification, academic records, and attendance records.
Can I apply if I am overstaying in Thailand?
No, you are ineligible if you are currently overstaying. You must leave the country first. The application does not grant a visa extension. If you have outstanding overstay records or more than 2 overstays in the last 3 years, you may not be able to obtain a Thailand Elite visa.
Visa & Entry
What is the Thailand Elite Visa?
The Thailand Elite Visa is a 'Privilege Entry Visa' (PE) — a special renewable five-year multiple entry visa with an extendable one-year length of stay per entry. It allows you to stay in Thailand long-term without the usual need to leave the country.
Can I stay in Thailand more than 1 year without leaving?
Your entry stamp allows a 1-year stay by default. Every time you leave and re-enter, you get another year. If you do not plan to travel within the 1-year period, you must apply for a stay extension at your nearest immigration office before your entry stamp expires. Thailand Elite staff can assist with this process.
What happens if my passport has less than 5 years validity?
If your passport validity is less than 5 years, the Privilege Entry Visa will be issued to match your passport expiry date. The remaining visa validity will be transferred to your new passport when you renew it. Thailand Elite requires at least 3 blank visa pages in your passport.
Why did I get an Elite Visa validated for less than 5 years?
This happens when your passport validity is less than 5 years. Your Elite Visa validity will match your passport's remaining validity. For example, if your passport expires in 2 years and 3 months, your visa will also be valid for that period. Contact Member Services to renew the visa when you get a new passport.
How does the annual stay extension work?
Despite the 5-year visa validity, each stay is limited to 1 year. If you wish to remain in Thailand beyond 1 year without leaving, you must apply for an extension of stay at immigration before your entry stamp expires. Thailand Elite provides an official letter and staff assistance for this process.
What is the 90-day reporting requirement?
All foreigners in Thailand staying more than 90 consecutive days must report their address every 90 days. The counter resets when you leave and re-enter Thailand. The report can be done online, by mail, or at an immigration office. Thailand Elite offers a free drop-off service in Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, and Chiang Mai.
How and where do I get my Thailand Elite Visa affixed?
Once approved and payment is made, you can get your visa at: Immigration Office at Chaeng Wattana (Bangkok) during business hours; Suvarnabhumi Airport upon arrival from an international flight (24-hour availability, 5 working days advance booking); Phuket Airport upon arrival; or Chiang Mai Airport upon arrival. A tourist visa may be required for certain nationalities.
Payment & Fees
How do I make the payment to Thailand Elite?
Once approved, you receive an official approval letter and invoice from Thailand Privilege Card Co., Ltd. (the state-owned company). You have 30 days to make the payment. The membership fee depends on your chosen tier.
Is it safe to make the payment?
Yes. Payment is only requested after your application has been approved by immigration. You receive a confirmation email with an official letter and payment instructions. Payment is made directly to Thailand Privilege Card Co., Ltd., the state-owned company operating the programmes.
Which payment methods are available?
Accepted payment methods include: bank transfer (local and international SWIFT), credit card (Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay) at TPC head office, Alipay, PromptPay (Thai QR Code), and cash remittance at Krungthai Bank branches nationwide.
Membership & Work
Can I work in Thailand with a Thailand Elite Visa?
The PE Visa is categorised under Tourist Visa, so it does not allow you to legally apply for a work permit. If your business and income are overseas, you can hold an Elite Visa. You can be a shareholder or director of a Thai company but cannot be actively employed. If you need a work permit, you can apply for a Non-B visa separately; your Elite Visa remains valid until its expiry.
Can I apply if I hold a Tourist Visa?
Yes, you can apply with a Tourist Visa, Visa on Arrival, or Visa Exemption (TR). If you are in Thailand when your application is completed and your current visa has not expired, you can schedule a visa affix at Chaeng Wattana Immigration via the Member Contact Center with at least 7 working days' advance notice.
Can I apply if I hold a Non-Immigrant (B) Visa with Work Permit?
Yes, you can apply. However, the Non-Immigrant Visa must be cancelled before the Privilege Entry Visa is activated, as Thai law allows only one active visa at a time.
Can I apply if I hold a Non-O (Marriage) or Non-OA (Retirement) Visa?
Yes, you can apply with a valid Non-O or Non-OA visa. Before getting your Thailand Elite Visa affixed, you will need to cancel your non-immigrant visa. Our team will provide detailed steps and the required letter for this process.
Can I cancel my membership?
Membership cancellation is possible under certain conditions, with a partial refund depending on the remaining duration. Contact our team for specific cancellation policies and procedures.
What is Thailand Privilege Card?
Thailand Privilege Card Co., Ltd. is the state-owned company operating the Thailand Elite membership programmes. 'Thailand Elite' is the common name used for over 20 years. Thailand Privilege and Thailand Elite refer to the same programmes.

The first EPL service is complimentary; subsequent uses are THB 2,000 per session (maximum 3 hours). Book 5 to 7 working days in advance.
Reporting & Compliance
How do I submit the 90-day report with Thailand Elite?
You can drop off your passport with a completed TM47 form at the Thailand Elite head office on Sathorn Road (Bangkok) every Tuesday by 16:30. Staff submit it to immigration on Wednesday and your passport can be collected on any weekday. The report can be submitted 15 days before to 7 days after the due date. Service is also available in Pattaya, Phuket, and Chiang Mai offices.
When do I have to do the stay extension?
For Privilege Entry Visa (PE) holders, the stay extension must be done once a year. The 90-day report is still required if you stay over 90 consecutive days. Immigration counts from day 1 of your entry stamp. You can extend up to 30 days in advance. The overstay penalty is THB 500 per day, maximum THB 20,000. Required documents: passport with Elite Visa, TM.6, TM.7, 2-inch photo, and official letter from Thailand Elite.
What is TM30?
TM30 is the notification form that landlords or property owners must submit to report a foreigner's stay in their property within 24 hours of arrival. This law has been in place since 1979 and is now strictly enforced. It may be required when you visit immigration for 90-day reporting or visa extensions.
Who is responsible for submitting TM30?
The responsibility rests with the host: the landlord, hotel, or serviced apartment. Failure to report can result in a fine of THB 1,600 per person. However, as a tenant, you may need the TM30 receipt when visiting immigration for other services.
What is the purpose of the TM30 regulation?
The government uses TM30 to track where each foreigner is staying at all times. Every host must report a foreigner's stay within 24 hours. This is part of broader measures to monitor and control immigration more effectively.
How do I report TM30?
The landlord should prepare a copy of the property title deed and rental contract, along with copies of your passport, visa page, and departure card. They can report at the nearest immigration office or online at extranet.immigration.go.th (when available).
How do I get a Certificate of Residence?
You can request a certificate of residence from your home embassy in Thailand or from the Immigration Bureau. However, you must have completed a 90-day report since your latest entry before requesting from Immigration. We recommend requesting from your embassy if possible.
